The 3rd Eye is a light-controlled expression pedal that interfaces with effects that offer expression control. A light dependent resistor (LDR) on top of the enclosure controls the turning of virtual knobs when used in-conjunction with the available properties of a compatible effect pedal. Whether you're waving your hand or stomping your foot, the amount of light that reaches the LDR can affect the amount of expression.

Death Spiral is a modulated delay based around the PT2399 delay chip. LFO 1 is an IC based LFO and LFO 2 is a transistor based optical LFO. The “dry” signal is not truly dry but is filtered and tuned as a stand alone OD/fuzz circuit. The controls are highly interactive with each other so we recommend experimenting, but here are the general operating instructions.

VOL: Sets the overall output level of the pedal.

GAIN: Adds more gain to both the “dry” line and the delay line.

LFO 1: Controls the speed of LFO 1.

DPTH: A little different than your average depth control. It is highly interactive with the LFO 1 knob. Experiment with different settings because full clockwise is not necessarily the most extreme setting for the selected LFO 1 setting.

TOGGLE: Down is LFO 1 (controlled by LFO 1 and DEPTH). Up is LFO 1 plus LFO 2.

LFO 2: Controls the speed of LFO 2. A transistor based LFO that can be turned on/off with the toggle switch.

DLY: Add the delay line to the “dry” line. Fully counter clockwise will completely remove the delay line. Fully clockwise will increase the delay line to slightly above unity.

FDBK: Determines the amount of repeats associated with the delay line. Highly interactive with FLTR control.

FLTR: A low pass filter on the delay line that cuts the amount of low end as the knob is turned clockwise. This slightly resonant filter also increases the amount of feedback in the delay line. Experiment with using this along with the FDBK control to shape the feedback and resulting oscillation. Also, this control can be used to help filter out some of the inherent noise produced by the PT2399 chip, especially at longer delay times.

TIME: Determines the length of the delay time. The further clockwise the longer the delay. Use the FLTR to help reduce noise. Also controlled with the EXP jack.

EXP JACK: Controls delay time to further warp and mangle your signal. Works with most expression pedals and controllers.

POWER: This pedal runs on a standard 2.1mm negative center 9 volt DC power supply ONLY.
